Trauma-Healing Yoga

“Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one’s being, from bodily health to self-realization.” ⁓ B.K.S. Iyengar

“Modern-day science confirms that the practice of yoga has tangible physical health benefits that include improved brain function and denser bones, as well as immune health, improved nervous system functioning and strength. Over 36 million Americans practice yoga and enjoy the benefits of a stronger body, calm mind, increased happiness and reduced stress.” ⁓ Azriel Re'Shel

The yoga Jaime Casellas teaches, based on the Trauma-Sesnsitive (Healing) Yoga developed by David Emerson, is appropriate for everyone. It includes postures and movements that “train the mind and change the brain for the better.”

No prior experience in yoga is necessary to participate in these classes. The classes are particularly beneficial for anyone coping with stress-related physical and/or emotional conditions. They are also modeled on the yoga practiced at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
